Title : Best Friends
Series : In Bed book 1
Author : Kelex
Genre(s) : Contemporary gay romence, LGBTQ+
Publication Date : March 12th 2018
My Rating(s) : 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Five old college buddies drifting away from one another…

One last chance to get things right…

Jesse’s friends are falling apart. Adam and Clay are at odds—again. Benji is growing more distant. And don’t even get him started on his lady’s man best friend. Hayden’s partying and screwing has become a noticeable problem. Jesse figures they all need a night out—together—to bring them back to where they’d been.

Adam and Clay arrive and refuse to speak to one another. Benji has brought along a new friend he’s more interested in. And Hayden shows up with an older woman draped over him like a cheap suit.

Jesse’s incensed—it was supposed to be a guy’s night!

He watches the pair of them, anger growing as he can’t help but witness Hayden and the woman—and all their PDAs. It makes him sick, seeing that woman touching his… his… his best friend.

By the end of dinner, Jesse’s ready to toss in the towel and call it a night. The check arrives with a pile of fortune cookies. Each person at the table grabs one, and their unwanted guest reminds them they need to add in bed to the end of their fortunes.

Jesse never counted on her being right—or that his fortune would come true.

In bed.

I must admit that the blurb is kinda confusing, but I get the impression that this short story will enjoyable enough to read since it's about my favorite trope friends-to-lovers and also gay-for-you. So, I decided to give this book a try.

And as I thought before, the story was kinda confusing at first when the author trying to introduce ALL characters that will have a chance to be featured in the next book in the series. So my suggestion is read it carefully and try to remember the name and the hints of their problems that possibility will be on their book IF you have the intention to continue with the other book in this series.

As the opening, this book will focus on Jesse and Hayden story. Since their first 'encounter' together eight years ago at the party, Jesse cannot forget the 'accidentally jerk session' he and Hayden had back then. For years Jesse must buried deep his feeling for his housemate since he assume Hayden is straight.

Their friendship still lasted even years after their graduate but then start to drift apart when Jesse start to feel Hayden keep avoiding him and 'busy' with his wild encounter with all the ladies.

Can't stand anymore with what Hayden's sexual activities with different women each night, Jesse decided to also put a distance to keep his wounded heart from bleeding even more.
Until one night, drunken Hayden suddenly came to his house and kiss him...

And then all the drama begin...
Can they both finally realized the 8 years of foolishness they'd made and solve the misunderstanding between them?

In a very short story, this book has successfully stole my attention. And now I cannot wait to read the next story in this series...
