Well, again I did randomly chose & 'gambling' with this book. I also not knowing & never read any book from this author before.

Even this book didn't give me that 4 stars feels but I like the simplicity in the story & quite enjoying the reading.

I don't usually put under 4 stars books reviews on my blog, instead I only share my 3 stars reviews on Goodreads. But I think this book deserve a place in my blog.

Why?
Because the cover spoiled my coverslut eyes and I do like the story.

Oh, and I'm totally curious about Luc's brother, Nic - that will have his own story on the next book. So, giddy waiting for his story!

Review : Wicked Steps by Cory Cyr

He was here for one reason only—to destroy my life and make me pay for sins that didn’t belong to me.

After his father death, Kieran Wick come home from abroad with one mission, "to make his step mother suffer".

Kieran come with huge plan to make her begging to him because he blamed her for what had happened to him and his mother for years living in 'exile'.

I was a walking contradiction—eighty percent asshole, twenty percent charming. I used my charisma to balance out my negative traits. Women were so easy.
I had always been the one; I owned the sex I had. Women meant nothing to me. Until her...

Ellery St. Claire had lived a miserable live for years since she agreed to marry his ex boss, the old Playboy billionaire, Hartman Wick.

She knew exactly what life she gonna lived when she agreed to Hartman Wick 'agreement', but never expected that she will face the fact about her 'husband' that shocked her life.

No one know what 'deal' she made to 'play' along with what Hartman Wick offered and what sacrifices she must made to fulfill her dream.

Everything had come as what 'agreement' they both made, until her ex husband son suddenly came just to ruined her dream and make her suffer.

Right when she think she had finally 'free' from the old man, she must deal with the old man devil's son, Kieran - that attempts to make her live another miserable life and trying to ruin her dream.

But what will happen when they both started to fall for each other and broke all the 'revenge' rules?

Will Kieran stick to his plan when he know the truth?

Will there is a future for this 'taboo' relationship?

What an interesting story to follow...

I don't usually 'do' MF since I'm fully dedicated myself to only read MM about three years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I still read some MF books, but only from my fave author which not more than three person.

I become sick with all the whiny-drama queen-bitchy-TSTL females characters and stereotype alpha-billionaire-and/or-bad boy type male characters in MF books.

And it not my usually habit to randomly read MF book from new author, but not this time I think.

The book cover had stole my coverslut eyes since I saw it for the first time and the blurb put me in super curiosity mode.
So I grab this book and read it with no expectations at all.

I'm so glad that I follow my feeling this time and decided to give this book a chance.
Because I do really enjoying the reading and liked this book even I must admit that this book did not give me massive 'O' and/or fulfill my five stars qualifications, but again I LIKE IT and that's enough for me.

So if you like a naughty-step son-step mother-taboo story wrapped in quite 'elegant' and not sound too 'cheap' & 'trashy', I recommended this book for ya!

If this longing spread any further he’d be utterly, completely lost. His fall would be inevitable, like the rebelling angels against God.

And I’d fall gladly...

God owned his soul, but Nicky would always have his heart...

❇❇❇

After nearly dead on stage due to overdose and have detoxing, Nicky decided to go home to his parents house which means, he must facing someone who broke his heart into pieces years ago...

Jazz ~ now father Jasper Hendricks, offering his "friendship" to help Nicky out from his drug addiction, and trying to heal Nicky broken heart with love...as a friend.

But will they can professionally stick to their "friendship" while those feelings still remains ??

oOo

Overall, I admit I LOVE the idea of a rocker and the priest story, but i do have my own worried about where the story will end.

Will it fulfill my expectation ?
Will it ended like another book about a Catholic Priest I've read before which ended disappointing ?

Because I NEED the logic reason for "The why" if the story include a priest when they choose to be a priest and/or leave their "calling" as/from Priesthood.

And in this case ?
I NEED to know the reason behind WHY Jasper choose his "calling" over Nicky.

I'm trying so hard to "understand" WHY Jazz chose to leave Nicky 17 years a go. I NEED more determined reason, not just "a calling". It's way too weak considering the term "how they LOVE each other" at that time.

Jazz keep hiding behind his "calling" reason which is not quite strong enough to be the reason "WHY", well...at least for me. And I keep looking for more thorough entire reading...
I need something BIG, something that can give me the PANG feeling...
And I still don't get it.

I'm so glad that they not jumped into sex right away after they met again, I like it come with "process" ~ trust me, it's really over long struggles and many teases until 80% reading, but after that first kiss after 17 years and then....BHAM!!!
Father Jazz suddenly become Father Jizz, and THAT shocking me to the jaws-dropping-levels.

But even it kinda shocking me, I still LOVE this story at some part. And that's why my rating didn't slip further more to the lower than 3 stars.

Because YES, I like this sexy badger & romantic little fox.
