🍁🍁🍁

The story captivated me. The writing mesmerized me. And the story consumed me and leave me speechless....

The story was sad and dark but also beautiful at the same time. My heart broke for Cal and still bleeds for him. Even the tears still flowing as I write this review....

This book had ruined me without mercy...

I know it just a fiction, but the feels is raw and so real. The anger and the sadness I felt for what had happen and the damage that caused all the bitterness that engulfed the MC's was so real. I want to cast my anger and hit something to push out all the emotions I try to endured during the reading...
But in the end, what I can only do is just crying...

I didn't want to spoil ANYTHING about the story. It's way too precious to be ruined by any spoilers. If you want to know and curious about the story, better you find out what actually happen by yourself, but please take the warning seriously and read it with your own risk.

This is that kind of book that will stay in your heart forever because the sadness won't leave you even after you finished the book...

“Do you want me gone? I can go away, if you want.

“Could you go?” For the first time in days, he reached for me. “No, you can’t go away,” he said softly. “I thought about asking you. I can’t. So don’t lie to me. You can’t, either.”

Highly Recommended with serious warning!

Review : New Heights by Quinn Anderson

Title : New Heights

After attending a friend’s wedding in New York, James Thompson is eager to go home, even though no one will be waiting for him at the gate. He has no expectations for his trip back to Charleston other than long lines, security, and bad airplane food. But when an annoying—albeit hot—stranger cuts him in line, James is determined not to be a pushover for once.

For Mika “It’s Mee-kuh, not Micah” Bailey, today’s just another day of boring work travel. That is, until his flight gets delayed, and some irritating (but handsome) guy keeps hogging all the good power outlets. Which means war. In the middle of an airport. In New York. What could go wrong?

Eventually, they declare a truce, and as they get to know each other, their attraction overwhelms them both. Terrified of what he’s feeling, Mika suggests a no-strings hookup, but serial-monogamist James wants more. If they don’t fight for what’s right in front of them, their romance might be canceled before it ever takes off.

The story begin with James who arrived so early at the airport on his way back to Charleston just to find out that the flight got delayed for few hours. As if that's not enough, then come a guy who cut the line and snaked the last charger at the charging station he'd been waiting for half an hour without even feels sorry.

Even the guy look so deliciously handsome, but to James he just 'a Rude Headphones Guy' to him because what he just did to him. And that's mean a war!

Mika (It’s Mee-kuh, not May-kuh!) thought that he will be missed his flight due to the traffic at the rush hour. But when he arrived at the airport within last minute just to find out that his flight just got delayed.

Joining with the sea of another passengers whose flight also got delayed, Mike then took seat near the charger station and plugged his phone to the charger. His act then got protest from a guy who insisted that he'd been there early and was in the next line to charge his phone when Mika cut his line.

The guy looks handsome with his blond hair and smile which remind him of the guy from Colgate guy commercial. Even feels a bit sorry for what he'd doing and had made the guy stare his dead glare to him after that, but there's something in that Colgate guy who catch his attention that want him to tease him more.

But when the Colgate guy cast his 'revenge' by 'humiliated' him in public and 'steal' his USB cord, that's mean a war!

And that's how this fun and light story begin...

Well, I can say that it's love at the first fight.

The book cover looks cute and caught my attention and the blurb seems adorable and tickling the curiosity in me. So, I decided to pick the book and read in in one sit.

The story was hilarious funny at almost the whole part, the friendnemies-to-lovers totally filled the air and could put a smile on your face almost the entire reading, the romance was good, the sexual tensions was high (but nothing had happen until the very last chapter), the pace is good with adorkable and lovely characters, and it's all put together in a good writing.

How the author slowly start the story with funny and almost 'child-like-tug-of-war' and prank between the two MC's and then moved to a truce moment and then ends up talking for hours and working through issues they’ve been struggling with for years, everything feels so smooth and natural.
And that what's make the story feels enjoyable enough to read.

James and Mika had come together like puzzle pieces. And I recommended this fun-light reading to all!

Review : His Biggest Secret by Xander Collins

Title : His Biggest Secret
Author : Xander Collins
Genre(s) : Gay Romance, LGBTQ+, Fantasy, Mpreg non-shifter, Omegaverse
Published : February 25th 2018
My Rating : 3.7 out of 5 Stars

Sometimes the biggest secret is the one we keep from ourselves.

Tough beta cop, Mark, wakes one morning with a hangover and some very vague memories of the previous night. One of those memories is something that Mark believes can’t be possible.

He sees a flash in his mind of his best friend, Landon, who also happens to be his partner at work. Someone he’s always had a crush on. The thing that Mark can’t believe is what Landon is doing in that memory. And why Landon doesn’t have any clothes on.

It isn’t until Landon brings up the event that Mark realizes what is happening to him. For the last forty years, young beta men have been turning into omegas. Some as late as their twenties.

Mark is filled with shame when he realizes that's what's happening. He went into heat. He threw himself at his partner. He's now an omega.

And he's carrying Landon’s baby.

Mark’s whole world comes unraveled as he struggles with the changes his body is going through, as well as the changes in his perception of the world around him. He’s no longer the tough beta cop he thought he was, but Mark starts to realize what true strength really is.

His Biggest Secret is a friends-to-lovers novella of 37k words with some bad language, hot sexy times, exciting and suspenseful moments, and a super cute baby to cuddle and tickle. It is intended for readers over the age of 18.

“You,” he said in his deep, commanding voice, “are the man of my dreams. And I will always be madly in love with you.”

I interested in this book because the blurb totally intrigued me. The idea of a tough beta cop who suddenly changed into an omega really grew curiosity in me. So I decided to pick the book and read it in one sit.

The premise of the story give an impression that the story gonna be 'something'. And it is really start with 'something' that I thought was really good.

Mark's emotional conflicts in facing his sudden change from a beta to an omega and the thought of transforming from a tough beta into 'a second class citizens' for being an omega with all the 'weaknesses' and 'breeding class' stereotypes had put Mark into huge stress.

Afraid of what people will think about him and losing the respect from his colleagues at work make Mark keep denying the fact that he's now an omega and carrying a child from his alpha cop partner, Landon.

While Landon keep showing his care for what happen to Mark and offering his 'help', Mark keep pushing him away and hurt Landon's heart without even knowing that all these years Landon had secretly in love with him.

I love what Landon trying to do to make Mark see the good side from what had happen to him and patiently trying to be on Mark's side during his struggle and confusing moment. He's totally a good alpha with tender heart who can see the bright future for him and Mark can make if Mark could see what he'd seen.

I wish I could 'hate' Mark for his rude behavior to Landon, but I can't. Because can you imagine being in his shoes? Sure, it's definitely not easy to cope. But when he finally can see the good side from all that happen to him and accepted it, things start to changing for both of them.

Well, it's a very rare thing I like this kind of omega-Mpreg-non-shifter story, but I can make exception for this one.

And now I can't wait for Mark's brother, Stephen and Dr. Jake Livingston story. I'm curious what exactly happened between them back then?

Review : Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Title : Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
Author : Becky Albertalli
Genre(s) : Contemporary, Gay Romance, Young Adult, LGBTQ+
Published : April 7th 2015
My Rating : 3 out of 5 Stars

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

Because of Blue. Even though he’s just words on a laptop screen. It’s just that I also kind of feel like he’s my boyfriend...

This book had been sitting on my reader for so long and I've been 'avoiding' to read it with no specific reason. I just feel 'the time was not right' each time I stumbled into it.

I know a lot of my friends had read it and say good things about this book and push me (well, it's more like 'forced' me sometimes!) to read it. But I keep saying, 'Later....'.

When the movie 'Love, Simon' finally released and seeing a lot of euphoria about the movie everywhere, I suddenly think that maybe it's about time I give the book a chance. So, I spent my weekend devouring the book.

And what can I say after I finished it is that the story is really cute and very refreshing complete with all typical normal teenagers problems around school, friendships and love. But this story also bring the coming out issue of the young gay guy named Simon with all the accepting side from the people surround him and also the bullies that up to the surface by few homophobic people at school.

Instead full of angst, the story feels so light with comedy and humor touch almost the entire reading. And it's good to (FINALLY) found a very fresh young adult gay story that come with no angst and happy ending.

I've been curious about Blue real identify the whole reading and keep trying to guessing who the Blue is. And I must admit that is one aspect that made the story interesting until the very last page. How the author build the curiosity by dropping the clues here and there and let the readers playing with their minds through her writing is good.

And I have this big grinning smiles when Blue's identity FINALLY revealed!!! Damn!!

I think, the only character I 'hate' in this story is Martin. I hate him for what he did to Simon. And I still hate him even after I finished the book!

But if there's no Martin, then Simon's story will NEVER exist!
So, thanks Martin, but sorry, man, cuz it didn't change the fact that I still hate you!

Now, I can't wait to watch the movie and meet Simon and all his friends, and joining the euphoria of Love, Simon!

Jeremy Adams life as he knew it was shattered ten months ago when he lost his husband Weston, the love of his life. The accident spared his husband's identical twin, Smith McKnight. When an unsuspecting Smith comes to check up on Jeremy, things happen that probably shouldn't have, causing Jeremy to decide that he has to put the past in the past and move on.

Smith McKnight is trying to put his life back together after the horrific accident that left him lost and confused, living with amnesia is like a blank slate with flashes from the past thrown in. With his soon to be ex-wife and family saying he's Smith, he tries to live up to the name. When his brother's husband, Jeremy touches him the future and the past become crystal clear. With the anniversary of the accident approaching he can't bear to tell his family, who have been working their way through the stages of grief, that something is off. While keeping certain facts to themselves, it's hard not to notice how much this dilemma is hurting the ever-honest Jeremy, truly the deception is breaking them both down.

At the end of the day are you going to be who people tell you to be, or are you going to be the person you know you are? The fate of his love and his life depends on the answer.

“I just want to be here…with you.”

Well, I think it's kinda hard for me to review this book without spilling any spoilers about the story. Because it's way much better if the reader read it by themselves and follow the emotional journey and feels what the author trying to 'give' to us (the reader) through her writing.

What I can say about this book is it's well written with perfect pace and lovely characters. The author portraying the grieving very well and also the emotional conflicts right on the portion. The slow pace give the readers time to mingling with Jeremy's emotions for loosing someone he love and then find back the love in the whole confusing things with his late husband twins brother, Smith.
The dilemmas and push-pull emotions before finally they find the truth was very touching.

There's a time when I want to questioning about some things that feels quite not 'right' and not logic that occurred in the story, but in the end I choose to ignore it and trying to focus on the whole idea of the story because I must admit, aside from the 'unlogic' part about 'the mistaken things', I honestly think that the story was so touching and interesting enough to enjoy.

Recommended.

Review : Voodoo Knights (Black Magic Harem #1) by Amanda Rose

Title : Voodoo Knights
Series : Black Magic Harem #1
Author : Amanda Rose
Genre(s) : Fantasy, Paranormal
Published : March 12th 2018
My Rating : 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Four dark and dangerous spirits haunt me.
They’re black magic manipulators, voodoo masters—and they say they’re here to be my teachers.
But can I really trust a man who turns into a cat? A motorcycle riding jerk with a bag of souls? How about his top hat wearing friend or the weirdo that lives in the tree in my backyard?
Don’t think so.
Then again, I might have little choice but to accept their help.
Somebody murdered my grandma and now that same somebody wants me dead, too.
These four guardians borrow their powers from mine:
Kriminal LaCoste. Samuel Baron. Sebastian GranBois. Zandor Red.
If I reject them, I’ll be left alone in a world of monsters, magic, and madness.
My destiny is within reach … as long as I don’t die before I get there.

To be honest, I randomly picked this book mostly just because of the cover. But when I read the blurb, I decided that I need this book as a 'refreshment' from my usual routine MM/gay romance genre. So, the next thing I know I devouring the book in one sit...

Serefine Laveau inherited a creepy old house from her late grandmother who she never met. And now she must stay in that house alone for couple of days before his father joining her to live there together.

What he didn't expected is her meeting with four hot smexy strangers guy who said that they bound to her as her 'Voodoo Knights' and lived to serve and protect her from the supernatural being called The Invisibles that want her life.

Shocking with the surprise fact that his 17 years old life wouldn't be normal and same again, plus the non-stop terror from the scary creatures that threatening his life since she first stepped into the house, Serefine must believe and learn how to use her power as the next Voodoo's Queen, to protect herself and save her beloved people from the death.

The question is, could she be what she destined to be and took her grandmother place as the protector for the place she live now?

🌿🌿🌿

I must admit that I have no big expectations when I chose this book beside the pure curiosity mostly caused by these lines, "...a man who turns into a cat? A motorcycle riding jerk with a bag of souls? How about his top hat wearing friend or the weirdo that lives in the tree in my backyard?" - from the blurb.
But I do interested more about the 'reverse harem' thing.

So, with the thought that there'll be some sexy scenes that include four sexy guy AND a girl (grinning sheepishly), I jumped to the story...

Well, there are indeed four hot smexy guy here, who taking turn in flirting with the young virgin girl while they're trying to protect her, and I must admit that the sexual innuendos among them can be say as hot enough, but still feels like a young adults scenes to me with all the kisses. Well, this kinda 'disappointed' me a bit because in fact there's NOTHING actually happen between the girl and one of the knights until the very last page of the book before the story ended in semi-cliffy ending with the promising premise that the next book will still interesting enough to follow.

And after what Sam did at nearly end of the book, I'm very curios what will Krim, Bas and Zandor do next! *smirks*

Can't wait to see what will happen next with them on the next book!

Review : The Omega’s Royal Baby (Omegas and Royals #1) by Taylor Bishop

Title : The Omega’s Royal Baby
Author : Taylor Bishop
Series : Omegas and Royals #1
Genre(s) : M/M Non-Shifter Mpreg Romance
Published : March 1st 2018
My Rating : 3 out of 5 Stars

The fiance isn’t real. But the feelings might be.

A spoiled, alpha playboy prince and a penniless commoner must fake the romance of the decade to save the throne…

Gabriel

As the Crown Prince of Merovia, all my life I've known that I can have any omega in the world with a snap of my fingers.

That is, until Noah.

I've never met an omega like him before: he's gorgeous, vulnerable and irresistible all at once. I want to hold him, to keep him safe and guard him fiercely from the world.

When we get tangled up in a fake tabloid romance to save my reputation, we fall in love with each other for real and I put a baby in Noah's belly. I almost dare to hope that things will go well for our little, growing family.

But the royal family has its fair share of skeletons in the closet, and the latest one to emerge might ruin us for good...

Noah

My life used to be normal, until the night I met Gabriel.

Before him, I was just trying to make ends meet. I worked three jobs to make rent, pay my sister’s medical bills and take care of her cat Agatha.

I clearly didn't have time to play pretend fiance to a playboy prince to save his name...but I really needed the money.

But Gabriel's not like any alpha I've known before: he's kind, protective, and his body keeps a virgin like me up at night.

If only his enemies don't tear us apart before we have the chance to be a real family...

A Fake Fiance M/M Non-Shifter Mpreg Romance.

The Omega's Royal Baby is a 30,000 word steamy, knotty and romantic mpreg romance with a guaranteed HEA!

First of all, I need to say that I DO  like Mpreg story, but omega non-shifter was not really my thing.
But I must admit that the book cover looks really promising and the blurb intrigued me enough to make me decided to give the book a try, so I read it.

I think the story have huge potential to develop into something that could be more 'gripping' if the story not ended too soon and keep floating on the surface.

The story start with a very interesting plot about a playboy alpha prince with full scandals in his life who must make a fake engagement to an ordinary omega from lower class to save the Prince already bad reputation from getting even worst and also to save his position as the crown Prince and the throne.

Like what always happen to ALL  story which start as fake relationship, there's always unexpected growing feels that come between the two MC's as they play the charade. And THAT is the part I love from this trope!

Gabriel didn't expect that he will have a growing feeling to his fake omega fiancé, but he can't no longer denied the comfort feeling he felt while Noah beside him and lights his lonely life when all people he first thought as friends always betrayed him for money. But Noah was different, even he actually being paid by his mother to be his fake fiancé for 6 months, but Noah has become a fun companion who he can trust in just short time they spent their life together.

Things were actually good at first half of the story before it falls into a typical omegaverse story. The omega accidentally get pregnant and you can guess what will gonna happen next to the rest of the story.

And the next thing you know, you crave for more and the book just ended like that. It's kinda disappointed a bit you know, BUT I do like Gabriel and Noah. They're very lovable characters and adorable. But the rest of the story didn't give what I actually need, a story that gripping you enough rather than a repetition of the common pattern : fake relationship-turn real love with accidentally pregnant omega and a sudden protective alpha and ended with a baby. Because I need more...

Not gripping enough is the main reason this book didn't fulfill my expectations. But the story is sweet enough to enjoy.

Oh I also have this growing curiosity about Gabriel's cousin, Lucas. And I do really wish that he will have his own book because I think he also has interesting story to tell...

Published : September 19th 2015
My Ratings : 4 out of 5 Stars

Cursed as an infant with a lack of physical and emotional gravity, Prince Efrosin can’t keep his feet on the ground or his head out of the clouds. Laughing his way through life, he’s never been weighed down by love and lust.
Then one fateful day, his tenuous tie to the earth is severed and he blows away on the wind. He’s rescued by Dmitri, a handsome young woodsman who suffers from a mysterious curse of his own, and the two strangers are irresistibly drawn together. Experiencing sex and love for the first time, they dive into a delightfully sensual and passionate affair.
But the evil witch who cursed them is planning her ultimate revenge. Efrosin and Dmitri must fight to find their fairy tale ending and live happily ever after.

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom at the edge of what was and what could never be. At the center of this kingdom was a castle, and within this castle lived a Prince known as The Light Prince, and his name is Efrosin...

The prince was born with a cursed, a body with lack of physical gravity and selective emotional empathy. He never knew what sadness or anger feels like, laughing & giggling were the only emotions he showed whether he sad or happy.

Then one day, on his eighteen birthday, the wind blew his body to the sky, and the prince flew away from his land and saved by a woodsman name Dmitri.

Dmitri also born with a curse, bound to his land and cannot leave. He lives a lonely life since his parents died, craving for the world outside his woods but cannot leave. Until one day he found a beautiful man who looks like an angel stuck on a tree and help him.

Dmitri then bring the angel home and promise to find a way to send the prince back to his castle.

But surprisingly, the prince keep insisted to stay in the woodman place and ask him to 'molested' him because it is his birthday!

The story then begin to feels a bit funny but erotic at the same time when the prince keep insisted Dmitri to take him and give him what he want. Will the shy woodsman fulfilled the prince demands?

🍃🍃🍃

How can a story could feels so erotic and purely innocent at the same time?

I can't stop being amazed on how the authors wrote the story. How can this 'demanding' prince asking for such erotics things but still look so innocence at the same time? And Dmitri with his shyness trying to do what his prince asked him to do, it's feels so....pure & innocent.

This book was beautifully written with good plot and adorable main characters that will make you feels floating along with them the whole reading.

I am a sucker for a fairytale story since I was kid. I used to love how the prince or the princess found their HEA with all the magical things surround their story. But then my preference start to change. I didn't want my prince to meet any princess anymore and have their HEA, but I WANT the prince to have their HEA with the man he loved.

And this book gave what my heart desired, a cursed Prince who finally have his happily ever after in the arms of the woodsman and broke all the curses that bound them since they're born in the name of love...
So romantic...

Highly Recommended!

ARC Review : Little Infinities (Love By Chance #1) by Kiska Gray

Apollo

On my darkest day, a handsome stranger saved me, but one look into his eyes and I knew he was broken, too. I promised myself that one day, I'd find him and thank him, but what do you do when your savior turns out to be rock god Sebastian St. Crow?

I'm about to find out...

Sebastian

On my darkest day, I found someone who needed help maybe even more than I did. Someone whose pain echoed mine, and in that moment, I'd wanted to save him. I gave him a second chance--but forgetting the beautiful young man with those haunted eyes was next to impossible.

I can have anyone I want, but I want him...and I think he wants me, too.

He’d seen something in me, something I didn’t even know existed, and he’d given me a second chance. No— he’d given me a fresh start, a brand new beginning.

When I first read the blurb, I have this strong impression that the story will be a bit 'dark' and angsty. And that actually the reason why I'm interested with the story. But then I found out that the story turned out not as dark/angsty as I expected.

Disappointed?
Well, I must admit that yeah...I'm a bit disappointed.

The first chapter succeeded make me cringed, but then the rest of the story turned to be a bit fluffy, sappy & cheesy in my opinion.

As for the characters, Apollo and Sebastian were very likeable characters. At least at the beginning. But then both MC's start annoying me at some level.

The honey, baby, buttercup things start to feel way too much and quite not 'match' with Sebastian characters as a punk-rock stars who ride a Harley Davidson. I expected he at least appear a bit cool and 'manly' according to his look description. The diva side the author trying to add feels a bit funny and didn't fit with the character descriptions. The 'pretty please, with whipped cream and cherry on top' part really 'ruined' it all and kill the mood.

At some part, I really have to convince myself that it's a gay romance that I'm currently reading and not MF or  'straight' romance when the scenes start to feels like 'typical' MF book.
BUT I must admit that at some part this book succeed brought tears to my eyes.

So, yeah. I have mixed feeling about this book after the reading. I can't say  this book was 'that good' or 'that bad', because maybe it because there's a tiny part of me that wish I could like the story a bit more or maybe actually I DO like this book at some part but with A LOT of notes here and there.

But if you love sweet-cheesy-messy story with cherry on top and less angst, I think this one is for you, because apart from all those notes I said above, Sebastian and Apollo definitely a soulmates match-made in heaven. And their love will swoon you the whole reading IF the over sweetness things suit your taste...
