He was here for one reason only—to destroy my life and make me pay for sins that didn’t belong to me.

After his father death, Kieran Wick come home from abroad with one mission, "to make his step mother suffer".

Kieran come with huge plan to make her begging to him because he blamed her for what had happened to him and his mother for years living in 'exile'.

I was a walking contradiction—eighty percent asshole, twenty percent charming. I used my charisma to balance out my negative traits. Women were so easy.
I had always been the one; I owned the sex I had. Women meant nothing to me. Until her...

Ellery St. Claire had lived a miserable live for years since she agreed to marry his ex boss, the old Playboy billionaire, Hartman Wick.

She knew exactly what life she gonna lived when she agreed to Hartman Wick 'agreement', but never expected that she will face the fact about her 'husband' that shocked her life.

No one know what 'deal' she made to 'play' along with what Hartman Wick offered and what sacrifices she must made to fulfill her dream.

Everything had come as what 'agreement' they both made, until her ex husband son suddenly came just to ruined her dream and make her suffer.

Right when she think she had finally 'free' from the old man, she must deal with the old man devil's son, Kieran - that attempts to make her live another miserable life and trying to ruin her dream.

But what will happen when they both started to fall for each other and broke all the 'revenge' rules?

Will Kieran stick to his plan when he know the truth?

Will there is a future for this 'taboo' relationship?

What an interesting story to follow...

I don't usually 'do' MF since I'm fully dedicated myself to only read MM about three years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I still read some MF books, but only from my fave author which not more than three person.

I become sick with all the whiny-drama queen-bitchy-TSTL females characters and stereotype alpha-billionaire-and/or-bad boy type male characters in MF books.

And it not my usually habit to randomly read MF book from new author, but not this time I think.

The book cover had stole my coverslut eyes since I saw it for the first time and the blurb put me in super curiosity mode.
So I grab this book and read it with no expectations at all.

I'm so glad that I follow my feeling this time and decided to give this book a chance.
Because I do really enjoying the reading and liked this book even I must admit that this book did not give me massive 'O' and/or fulfill my five stars qualifications, but again I LIKE IT and that's enough for me.

So if you like a naughty-step son-step mother-taboo story wrapped in quite 'elegant' and not sound too 'cheap' & 'trashy', I recommended this book for ya!

If this longing spread any further he’d be utterly, completely lost. His fall would be inevitable, like the rebelling angels against God.

And I’d fall gladly...

God owned his soul, but Nicky would always have his heart...

❇❇❇

After nearly dead on stage due to overdose and have detoxing, Nicky decided to go home to his parents house which means, he must facing someone who broke his heart into pieces years ago...

Jazz ~ now father Jasper Hendricks, offering his "friendship" to help Nicky out from his drug addiction, and trying to heal Nicky broken heart with love...as a friend.

But will they can professionally stick to their "friendship" while those feelings still remains ??

oOo

Overall, I admit I LOVE the idea of a rocker and the priest story, but i do have my own worried about where the story will end.

Will it fulfill my expectation ?
Will it ended like another book about a Catholic Priest I've read before which ended disappointing ?

Because I NEED the logic reason for "The why" if the story include a priest when they choose to be a priest and/or leave their "calling" as/from Priesthood.

And in this case ?
I NEED to know the reason behind WHY Jasper choose his "calling" over Nicky.

I'm trying so hard to "understand" WHY Jazz chose to leave Nicky 17 years a go. I NEED more determined reason, not just "a calling". It's way too weak considering the term "how they LOVE each other" at that time.

Jazz keep hiding behind his "calling" reason which is not quite strong enough to be the reason "WHY", well...at least for me. And I keep looking for more thorough entire reading...
I need something BIG, something that can give me the PANG feeling...
And I still don't get it.

I'm so glad that they not jumped into sex right away after they met again, I like it come with "process" ~ trust me, it's really over long struggles and many teases until 80% reading, but after that first kiss after 17 years and then....BHAM!!!
Father Jazz suddenly become Father Jizz, and THAT shocking me to the jaws-dropping-levels.

But even it kinda shocking me, I still LOVE this story at some part. And that's why my rating didn't slip further more to the lower than 3 stars.

Because YES, I like this sexy badger & romantic little fox.

Review : Empathy (Empathy, #1) by Ker Dukey

Title : Empathy (Empathy, #1)
Author : Ker Dukey
Part of series : Empathy
Genre : New Adult, Romance
Read in August, 27th 2015
Rate : 5 Stars

They say some people are born with decreased activity in the brain; a cold spot in the front central lobe. Where most people have activity, a hot area giving them feelings, emotions and enabling them to love, there are a rare few who have a cold spot, affecting their ability to feel emotions, empathy.

There are theories that serial killers have this cold spot. Psychopaths. That’s why they lack the ability to connect, to care.

I don’t have feelings the way most people do. I may be one of those people...
Psychopaths.
I don’t know.

I don't want to love...
I don't want to feel...
I don't want...
Empathy...

oOo

There's nothing more important than find a good book, on the right moment and right mood.

Right when I need book that can blow my mind and suited my "killing mood", I stumbled with this one.

Well, this book had been sitting on my reader for quite long and I keep passing it and choose another title. Duh !

I know this book had promising blurb, and one of my buddy read kept insisting me to try it, but.....I always tell her that "I'm not in the mood"....
Silly me, and my stupid mood !

Soon I found that I couldn't put this book down since the first line of the book caught my eyes. It mesmerized me and evoke "the psychopath side" in me in a strange way .

I appreciate how the author trying to mislead the reader to follow what she want, drove the reader to false direction, but no, I can "see" where's the story gonna end.
But, even I know who the real devil is, the story still interesting enough to follow.

I like the epilogue, but "the second epilogue" was the one that really gave the "WTF-things" to me.

So...

You think that you know who's the devil is?

Nah! You don't!

Review : Analyzing Emory by Lily Grace

Title : Analyzing Emory
Author : Lily Grace
Genre : M/m Romance, Gay Romance
Read in September 2015
Rate : 4 Stars

Everything about Emory was contradictory and fascinating and surprising.

Kyle couldn’t rid the beautiful man from his mind.

Emory was perhaps the most beautiful man to ever grace Kyle’s sheets, but there was something else about Emory (that) intrigued him. Those soulful eyes—he found himself aching to learn more about what was behind them.

oOo

Emory didn’t have many rules he lived by, but there were a few he never broke:

~ sex is just sex; if you can help it, don’t spend the night;
~ never sleep with the same person twice;
~ and whatever you do, don’t fall in love.

Keeping people at arm’s length made things easier. No muss, no fuss, and absolutely no chance of getting hurt.

Until one day, he met this beautiful man with blue eyes ~ Mr. Sexy Psychologist, Dr. Kyle Michelson.

And since that one night stand with this sexy psychologist, Emory start to break all his own credo one...by...one...and soon make his world turn upside down.

But will this relationship between  "no muss, no fuss" guy with dark-abusive-past and "Mr. Used to relationships, not random sex" survive the age gap and the trust issue ?

Will Emory break the wall he build around him to protect his heart from another hurt ?

Will Kyle win Emory trust and love ?

❇❇❇

I know some readers said that the issues in this story are too cliche and the plot way too predictable, and I must admit that yes, it's true, BUT....I don't care!

Because I falling for the story since the very first time I read about Emory's "sad" eyes , and at that moment I realized that this beautiful guy has the story to tell and I have the feeling that it would break my heart and I'm gonna fall in love with this beautiful-broken-young man.

There's two scenes from this book that squeezed my heart. First, the scene with baby Clara and the second one is this...

“So nobody wanted you, huh? You were abandoned? People were mean to you?” Emory hugged him close and ran his fingers through the soft gray fur. “I know all about that. We have a lot in common, you and me. I’m going to call you Max, okay? I knew another great dog named Max. It’s a good name for a dog.” Emory pulled Max closer and was rewarded by a sloppy lick to his face. “It’s okay, boy. Life is kinda rough sometimes. But I want you. So you just forget about all the bad stuff that happened in the past. Okay? You’re going to be alright. I’m not going to let them put you down.”

"The dog adoption" scene...

One thing I think quite not right in this story is Kyle....
As a professional psychologist, IMO, should know how to deal with people with abusive past and trust issues like Emory.
But instead of being a professional like therapist, he trapped in his own feelings to "fix" things when what Emory need just someone who "see" him not as some thing need to be fix.

But again, I can't blame Kyle either, because when you love someone so deep, all you wanna do is....to take care of them, make them safe, see them smile and embrace them with your love.

Overall, yes, I love this story and put it on my fave shelf.

Love no need to be analyzed,
but to be feel...

Release Day Review : Blood & Milk by N.R. Walker

Title: Blood & Milk
Author: N.R. Walker
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: June 23, 2016
Rate : 5 ++ Stars

It’s more than just a cultural exchange.
It’s about trust and acceptance, finding yourself, and a true sense of purpose, and allowing your heart to love again.

Heath Crowley is an Australian man, born with two different coloured eyes and the gift—or curse—of having premonition dreams. He also has nothing left to live for. Twelve months after having his life upended, his dreams tell him where he needs to be. So with nothing―and no one―to keep him in Sydney, he simply boards a plane for Tanzania. Not caring if he lives or dies, Heath walks into a tribe of Maasai and asks to stay. Granted permission, he leaves behind the name and heartbreak of Heath and starts over with the new Maasai name of Alé.

From the day of his birth, Damu has always been an outcast. The son of the chief and brother to the great warrior leader, Damu is reminded constantly that he’s not good enough to be considered a man in the eyes of his people. Ordered to take responsibility for Alé, Damu shares with him the ways of the Maasai, just as Alé shares with Damu the world outside the acacia thorn fence. But it’s more than just a cultural exchange. It’s about trust and acceptance, finding themselves, and a true sense of purpose.

Under the African sky on the plains of the Serengeti, Heath finds more than just a reason to live. He finds a man like no other, and a reason to love.

PROLOGUE

It was twelve months on. A full year had passed, yet my world had stopped completely. The men who stole my life were charged and would serve time for their crime. No one called it a hate crime, but that’s what it was. If I was expecting some sort of finality to come with the court findings, I didn’t get it.
I was still hollow. I was still numb to the world, and I was still alone.
I was also awarded damages, civilian victim and medical.
A nice healthy sum that meant I could pay off my debts after not working for twelve months, and more. Though no amount of money would make this right. No amount of money would bring him back.
My mother came along for the final hearing, though I could only guess why. I had barely spoken two words to her in the last year. Maybe she came so she could vie for the sympathy card with her friends. Or maybe she thought she could have one last twist of the knife…
“Now it’s all over,” she said, nodding her head like her words were wise and final. “You can put all this homosexual nonsense behind you.”
I looked at my mother and smiled. I fucking smiled. I raged inside with a fury to burn the world, and maybe she saw something in my eyes―maybe it was a ferocity she’d never seen before, maybe it was madness―and my words were whisper quiet.
“You are a despicable, bitter human being, and you are a disgrace to mothers everywhere. So, when you go to your church group, instead of praying for my soul, you should be praying for yours. You have only hate and judgement in your heart, and you are doomed to an eternity in hell.” I leaned in close and sneered at her. “And I hope you fucking burn.” I stood up and stared down at her. She was pale and shocked, and I did not care. “If you think my words are cold and cruel,” I added, “I want you to know I learned them from you.”
I walked away, for the final time. I knew I’d never see her again, and I had made my peace with that.
I didn’t care for the money. I didn’t care for anything. I longed for sleep, because in my dreams, I saw him. And that night, almost one year to the day since he was gone, in our too-big bed, in our too-quiet flat, in my too-alone life, I dreamed of Jarrod.
He sat on our bed and grinned. I longed to hear his voice, just once. It’d been a year and I craved the sound of his voice, his touch. But when I reached out for him, even in my dream, as in my waking nightmares, he was gone. I sat up in our bed, reaching out for nothing but air. He was gone, really gone.

But in this dream, on the bed where he’d sat, was a plane ticket. Mr. Heath Crowley, it said. One way ticket to Tanzania.

Everything was normal. Until it wasn’t. Nothing was normal again after that day. Not one thing. Not me, not my life, not the stars or the moon. Not the air I breathed, not how people looked at me. Nothing.
I wanted to feel… something.
Anything Alive, mostly.
I wanted to feel alive...

What more worse than a feeling that you look alive from outside, but the truth is...you're practically 'dead' inside?

Memories are the cruelest thing that ripped Heath life over and over again.

After the traumatic tragedy that ripped Heath life into pieces and numbed him for months. Heath felt there's nothing left in his life that can make him stay for much longer in Sidney.

Lead by the dreams that had been 'haunted' his nights for months and not caring if he lives or dies - Heath then decided to leave all his life behind and follow his dreams...

Fate then bring him meet Damu...

And....then, this beautiful-heart-warming-story begin....

Damu was calm and peace. He was the place my soul had longed for, had been homesick for, where I was centred and everything in my world wasn’t broken anymore...

***

I've been 'early warned' before that this story will be very different and definitely was not 'my thing'. And to be honest, I usually 'avoiding' reading this kind of book.

So, when I offer myself to help the author for beta reading the book for "sensitive matters", I - practically - pushed myself out my comfort zone and took all risk with what will happen next by reading the book.

Why?

Because I know anything that come from N.R. Walker will be something!

So, here I am now...

From the very first time I read the prologue, I knew that this book gonna be the heartbreaking one.

But then I found that the story totally BEAUTIFUL in all its simplicity.

I don't know what 'jinx' the author put when she wrote the story. But as soon as I 'meet' Damu, I'm in love with Damu character instantly.

Each time he smile or laugh, I got that 'butterfly in my tummy' feels and it warmed my heart.

I cried so many times while reading this book.

I cried for Heath for what he'd been through, for each dreams he had...and what he'd done for Damu.

I cried for Damu each time he felt 'worthless' or not 'man enough'.

I cried for every simple but heart warming things that happened in this story.

The way Heath and Damu 'see' the world through all the simplicity gave me some peace...

This story way more deeper that what I thought...

The author portraits Maasai people & their culture perfectly.

Through her writing, I can 'feel' like I was 'there', at the Serengeti the whole reading and 'see' all the beauty of the land through Damu & Ale's eyes and feels their growing emotions for each other.

I 'saw' what Heath 'see' in Damu, how beautiful this man is, and finally understand why Damu become Heath's 'sunshine' to his dark world.

Damu not only healed Heath's  wounds, but he also make him feel 'alive' again...

Thank you for writing Damu & Ale story. It's so beautiful, N.R. Walker.

Glad you - finally!! - decided to publish this story.

Blood & Milk is one of the most beautiful-heartbreaking story I've read this year about finding a happiness in all simple things and the journey to find another love lead by dreams... .

Damu & Ale story definitely will stay forever in my heart...

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.

Getting experience with the guy next door seems like a great idea—until the lines blur.

Dev, a geeky first year physics student, has zero sexual experience and he’s determined to change that ASAP. After a bad time in halls of residence, he’s starting the summer term with different housemates and a new plan of action.

Ewan lives in the house next door to Dev. He’s young, free and single, and isn’t looking to change that anytime soon. When awkward circumstances throw them together, Ewan offers to help Dev out in the bedroom in return for maths tutoring, and Dev jumps at the chance.

They work their way through Dev’s sex-to-do list, but what starts as a perfect no-strings arrangement gets more complicated as their feelings for each other begin to grow. If they’re going to turn their lessons in lovemaking into something more permanent, they need to work out how they feel about each other—before they get to the end of Dev’s list.

Sitting on his bed, Dev yawned, his full stomach making him sleepy. He stared at his phone as he contemplated calling home but decided he couldn’t face it tonight. He loved his mum, but she did tend to bang on. Once she got him on the line, she’d end up talking for ages and asking him a million questions he was too tired to answer. Instead, he sent his mum a quick text.
All moved in, everything’s good. I’m shattered now so I’m going to have an early night. I’ll call you tomorrow.
She replied within seconds as though she’d been waiting for him to call.
Okay sweetie, glad you’re settled. Sleep well xxx
He picked up his notepad and crossed off phone home. Texting counted. He also crossed off everything else on his list for today. That was Saturday done.
Dev set his notepad aside, opened his laptop, and pulled up his lists app. He liked his notepad for day-to-day organisation; it gave him a certain satisfaction to cross out the things he’d done and to get to the end of the day with all the tasks completed. But for longer-term planning, he kept his lists on his Mac, synced to his phone.
For the first time in six months, Dev could breathe again. Finally he had a safe place where he could get back on track and look to the future. He began to type.
Things To Do This Term

  • Make some friends
  • Learn to cook
  • Research sex stuff
  • Join Grindr
  • Get some experience
  • Find a boyfriend

He stared at the words on the screen and sighed. That seemed like a lot of things to aim for. But it was good to have goals, right? Jez and Mac seemed really nice, so hopefully Dev was already on his way to achieving the first objective. And that bloke Ewan… Dev’s mind conjured up the image of the flame-haired hunk who lived next door. Ewan had been friendly.
Maybe there was potential there too.

“What do you want from me, Dev? In an ideal world, what would we be to each other?”
That was an easy question for Dev to answer. “Boyfriends.”
Ewan’s face split into a smile that made Dev’s knees weak. “I’d like that too.”

***

Having bad experiences with a bunch of homophobic guys at his old dorm made Devrim Karadere—Dev decided to move and looking for a 'gay friendly' place to stay. Rupert's then suggested Josh old place for Dev to stay. (Yes! My Rupert & Josh from the previous book!)

With new safe place to stay and gay friendly housemates, Dev at least found his new 'peace' and starting new list of plans he's going to do. That include 'make some friends, learn to cook, research sex stuff, join Grindr Get some 'experience', and find a boyfriend...

“I’m here for you. No strings, no pressure. I’m not looking for a relationship. But if you want someone to have some fun with, then I’m up for it.”

Then there's Ewan Campbell, the red hair bloke from next door house who accidentally open Dev's package wrongly sent to him which contains very private stuff.
Awkward things happen when Ewan decided to return the package in private with Dev.

The second awkward moment happen when Ewan accidentally found Dev's on grindr. Sensing the 'danger' that will prey Dev, Ewan then trying to 'warned' Dev that he'd been 'fishing on the wrong pond' full of starving wolves.

They then come up with 'an agreement', Dev will help Ewan with his math problems and in return, Ewan will 'teach' Dev with all experience from 'Ewan Campbell School of Sex'.

What Ewan didn't 'expected' was he'll get a very eager and curious 'student' that soon will make him broke all 'his free and single life' rule. Together they start doing what's in Dev's 'To Do List' and 'practice' to perfection...

Things then get complicated when the lines getting blur and they both struggling with their growing feeling...
Will the agreement still needed?

****

This book gave me that giddy-butterfly-in-my-tummy-feeling while I'm reading it.
I can't stop grinning since the very beginning 'til the last word.

Dev with his cute-nerdy-look and his 'to-do' list thing totally stole not only Ewan's heart but also mine!

This book definitely right what I needed, light plot with lovable characters, strong chemistry, friend-to-lover, college boys, also full of high sexual tension between the two MC wrapped in funny and fun way.

That's why I RECOMMENDED this book - and all the previous books in this series to all M/M romance lovers out there.

So, don't miss it, guys!
